During the sweltering temperatures of a Washington, D.C. summer, there’s nothing like a cold glass – or can or bottle – of beer to take the heat away and also enjoy a laid-back August afternoon. Which is exactly why on Aug. 5, we’ll celebrate International Beer Day, which is now celebrated in 80 countries across the world.
Despite the name of the holiday, you can celebrate International Beer Day right at home in Washington, D.C. thanks to our many local brewpubs that offer beers of every style. Check out these brewpubs near your Vale apartment this Aug. 5!
Hellbender Brewing Company, located at 5788 2nd St NE, Washington, D.C. which is nine minutes from your Vale apartment, is a bright brewery that makes Euro- and American-style ales served by the growler, pint and at tastings.
Hellbender Brewing Company is named after a rare salamander since brewery founder and former neuroscience researcher Ben Evans was always obsessed with amphibians growing up. The Hellbender is endangered in the wild, and the brewery is committed to sustainability and is always looking for better ways to brew beer.
